High Back Boosters: The Safest Choice for Your Growing Child
High back boosters (HBB) are designed to support children starting from 15kg, but we typically advise waiting until your child reaches 18kg or 100cm if possible. At 15kg, children can still be quite small, and the additional support provided by their current car seat is often more suitable for their safety and comfort.
There’s no need to rush transitioning your child to a high back booster. The car seat they’re currently using likely offers better protection and support. We always recommend utilizing the full height and weight capacity of your child’s current seat before making the switch to the next stage.
At In Car Safety Centre, we have chosen not to stock backless booster cushions. These cushions do not provide the essential side-impact protection that a high back booster offers. Additionally, backless booster cushions don’t accommodate a larger weight or height range than high back boosters; they merely raise a child to the height needed to use the car’s seat belt effectively.
We recommend using a high back booster until your child reaches at least 135cm in height. However, if your seat allows for continued use up to 150cm, it’s advisable to keep using it for maximum safety.
For those residing outside the UK, please note that your car seat must be used until your child reaches 150cm. Explore our selection of high back boosters, and don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
It was a very useful visit. It is great to see such a big range and to have the dummy car seat to see how it is installed. We also appreciated the time allocated to discuss the pros and cons of various seats a gain a better understanding of weight/height guidance.
The seat itself was as advertised, fitting it was a bit more of a challenge. Where to put the seatbelt was the issue.
The thing that let you down was your shipping very hit and miss
