John Lyus starts ICSC (stemmed from an advert in the CSMA magazine for a Britax seat called SupaRider.  So many questions asked, that the idea was born).

1984 

Current MK Manager joins as an assistant

‘Love Seat’ Loan Scheme introduced from Luton premises

1985 

Love Seat’ Loan Scheme started Nationwide

1988

First rear facing infant carrier purchased from Maxi Miliaan (Maxi Cosi)

First rear facing infant carrier purchased from Britax

ICSC makes move to current premises in Milton Keynes

March 1989

Current Warehouse Manager employed

Production of Love Seat taken over by ICSC

1990

Maxi Miliaan (Maxi Cosi) appoint ICSC as UK distributor

Rearward Facing Seat, Duo Luxo, for Hip Spica imported from AKTA in Sweden

1991

It became mandatory to wear seat belts in rear seats (where fitted)

ICSC worked with top consumer show 'That’s Life'

ICSC fitted seat belts to the rear of Esther Rantzen’s car for her previously unrestrained children.

1993

Britax Swedish Cruiser seat launches rear facing for Hip Spica

1994

Dorel acquire Maxi Cosi

1995

ECE R44-03 introduced

1997

In-Car Safety Opens in Belfast

Love Seat Loan Scheme introduced in Northern Ireland

1999

First ISOfix seats sold by ICSC 

2000

ICSC Survives ‘Millennium Bug’ as we have no computers

ICSC takes over warehouse distribution for Concord Seats

Hip Spica Loan Scheme goes National

Law relating to Booster seat use introduced

It becomes illegal to use seats manufactured before 1995
